Our daughter....

Our daughter is 21 now, and has completely grown out of her epilepsy.

She has a good job, a nice boyfriend and her own car.  As a child she had absence seizures.

They started when she was about six, and for quite a few years she was having many little “blanks” every day.  She had difficulty with her school work, because her day was a bit like a paper doily with hundreds of little pieces cut out – so she missed out on a lot of important things in school.

Medication helped, but we found it important to go let the teachers know she may need extra help, and we also helped her a lot ourselves, filling in some of the “blanks” for her in the evening.  She grew out of it as a teenager and no longer needs any medication.
